Organic farming & food production all over the world is an intensely managed & regulated industry, there can be some differences in the laws & processes however the basic procedure to get certified remains the same. For a farmer to name their food as "organic", they should meet the guidelines in general and principles set by their country’s government.

Certified organic produce implies that a farmer has applied, paid for, and got a certification from the government, indicating that the crop or produce they have grown has been developed without the usage of pesticides, chemicals and synthetic fertilizers and don't contain Genetically Modified.
